The United States Ambassador to Yemen, Thomas Krajeski, attended YALI Graduation Ceremony
On Thursday, March 23rd, US Ambassador Krajeski, addressed the graduates of the Yemen-America Language Institute (YALI) in Sana’a, Yemen. Ambassador Krajeski spoke to a crowd of 200 guests and handed out certificates to 12 graduates who successfully completed the most advanced courses offered at YALI.
His address spoke to the similarities between Yemenis and Americans. He expressed that by studying English, YALI students serve as a bridge between the two countries. “Our differences are on the surface. Underneath we are the same. By studying at YALI you help our two societies understand each other.” Ambassador Krajeski concluded by encouraging the graduates not to end their study of English today, but let this be the beginning.
Two graduates also spoke to the crowd. Wafa Barahim and Hussam Al –Araki encouraged current students to work hard, so that some day they will stand here and receive this prestigious certificate.
