The Yemen America Language Institute (YALI) held a graduation ceremony on Thursday, February 9th to celebration the successful completion of its advanced courses. YALI honored 10 graduates. Highlights of the ceremony were speeches by 2 of the graduates, Shaima Abdul Rahman Al-Hadi and Fares Yahia Al-Dabbi.
Shaima, “I wish I could divide my certificate into small pieces. Not because I’m not happy to get it, but because I want to share it with those whom I would never have gotten it without.”
Fares, “In YALI, I and my fellow graduates learned to communicate with different people in different ways and in a different language which made (YALI) a meeting place for unique and original people. I’ll end this speech saying that this is not the end but the beginning of a new path that will lead us to making a better country and a better Yemen.”
Shaima will continue her studies in pharmacology at the university and Fares hopes to study IT at the university next September.
Janice Luce, the newly arrived Director of Courses, also addressed the audience and congratulated the graduates.
