U.S. Embassy-Sponsored Workshop on Good Governance held by the Welfare Arab Association Transformation
April 10, 2007April 9, 2007: The Welfare Arab Association Transformation (WAAT) program, under a grant from the United States’ Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), is currently conducting its third training workshop on “Good Governance” in Sana’a.
The MEPI program coordinator at the U.S. Embassy, said: “Promotion of good governance principles, like anti-corruption, rule of law, and accountability, are crucial for Yemen in reforming its economy and promoting investment and tourism and private investment is crucial to increasing Yemen’s prosperity.”
The WAAT program is working to build an independent and self-sustaining network of strong civil society organizations in six countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Yemen. Promotion of good governance, including anti-corruption and transparency, are cornerstones of the MEPI program.

السفارة الأمريكية ترعى ورشة عمل حول الحكم الرشيد يعقدها برنامج تطوير عمل المؤسسات الخيرية العربية
يقوم حالياً برنامج تطويرعمل المؤسسات الخيرية العربية وفي إطار منحة مقدمة من مبادرة الشرق الأوسط للشراكة التابعة للولايات المتحدة بعقد ورشة العمل الثالثة حول "الحكم الرشيد" في صنعاء.
قال منسق برنامج مبادرة الشرق الأوسط للشراكة في سفارة الولايات المتحدة بصنعاء " إن تعزيز مبادىْ الحكم الرشيد مثل محاربة الإرهاب وتعزيز حكم القانون والمسؤولية من الأهمية بمكان لليمن في إصلاح إقتصادها وكذا تعزيز الإستثمار والسياحة والإستثمار الخاص في زيادة رخاء اليمن".
يعمل برنامج تطويرعمل المؤسسات الخيرية العربية لبناء شبكة مستقلة وقوية لمنظمات المجتمع المدني في ست دول من دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي واليمن. يعد تعزيز الحكم الرشيد بما في ذلك الشفافية ومحاربة الإرهاب من أهم مرتكزات برنامج مبادرة الشرق الأوسط للشراكة.
