Immigrant Visas
IV Scheduled Interviews
Due to the Department of State Ordered Departure of non-emergency U.S. Embassy American staff and family members from Yemen, the Consular Section has been forced to reduce routine visa processing, including immigrant visas. As a result, all immigrant visa appointments will have to be rescheduled. You will be contacted by the National Visa Center or the embassy Consular Section when your visa interview appointment has been rescheduled. Unfortunately, we cannot predict when we will be able to schedule your immigrant visa interview and/or review your case. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Should you require any further information, you should feel free to contact us by calling 755-2000 and then pressing the number for Immigrant Visa.

Immigrant Visa Interview Schedule
The Immigrant Visa Unit conducts immigrant visa interviews by appointment only. When your petition adjudication appointment or visa interview is scheduled, you will be notified of your appointment date in a letter from the Kentucky Consular Center (for Diversity Visa candidates) or from the Consular section in Sana’a (for all other Immigrant Visa applicants).
If your appointment or interview has been scheduled, you can find the date by using the Find command under the edit menu on your Internet browser and entering your case number, or you can simply scroll down to look for your case number in the appropriate section. If the appointment schedule has not been updated in the past week, please ask us to update it by e-mailing us at ConsularSanaa@state.gov.
Note that the appointment time for all interviews is 7:30 a.m. If the beneficiary does not appear with all required documents and appropriate interview/issuance fees before 8:30 a.m. on that day, his/her appointment will be rescheduled for a later date. It is the applicant's responsibility to contact us, either by e-mail or in writing, to reschedule the appointment.
Important Note for Diversity Visa Applicants: Please be informed that if the principal applicant is found to be ineligible for the DV program, fees for the application will not be refunded. The criteria under which one may be found ineligible are as follows:
1. Insufficient education or work experience
2. Multiple lottery entries in the same program year
3. Failure to list a spouse or child on the initial application to the program
If you have not received your appointment letter by 2 weeks before your appointment date, or the appointment date displayed is different from the date on your letter please contact us by e-mail at ConsularSanaa@state.gov.
