Warden Message March 18, 2009

March 18, 2009

At approximately 0900  today a group of South Koreans, traveling in a diplomatic plated vehicle, were targeted by what appears to have been a suicide bomber near the Sana’a airport. The bomber apparently stepped out in front of the vehicle as it was traveling down the road.  None of the South Koreans were killed in the attack.  The RSO is investigating the incident. More information will be provided as it becomes available.

In the meantime, all Embassy personnel are instructed to remain at the Embassy and cancel all outside appointments until further notice.  Those personnel that are not at the Embassy are instructed to return to their homes.
