The U.S. Embassy in Sanaa has reports that demonstrations are planned to begin at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 19 in Tahrir Square and the reviewing stand area on 70-meter road in Sanaa to protest the detention in the U.S. of Sheikh Moayid, as well as Yemeni citizens at Guantanamo Bay. As these gatherings are expected to have an anti-American character, all Embassy personnel have been advised to avoid Tahrir Square and the Hadda area until notified the protests have ended. We advise American citizens to defer all movements to these areas and exercise extreme caution during the time of the planned demonstrations.
