USAID Sponsors School Repair Workshop for Yemeni Educators in Shabwah and Mareb

As part of the U.S. government's commitment to help improve the conditions of schools in Yemen, the U.S. Agency for International Development has sponsored a six-day School Buildings Repair and Maintenance Concepts Workshop for School Maintenance Committees from eighteen schools in Shabwah November 1-6, and forty-six schools in Mareb November 22-28. 116 school headmasters, teachers, heads of fathers and mothers councils, social workers, engineers, representatives from the District Offices of Education, the Governorate Office of Education, and the Director Generals of Education from the governorates and the district levels were in attendance.
Participants in the workshop will discuss the importance of continuous maintenance at the educational facilities under their care and develop greater knowledge and skills in the area of basic repair and maintenance. As a result of the workshop, maintenance officials will be able to extend the service life of their school buildings and in turn reduce construction and renovation costs.
This workshop represents just one component of USAID’s education program here in Yemen. All education activities reflect the commitment of the government of the United States to help Yemen promote the prosperity and well-being of all Yemenis through education.
الوكالة الأمريكية للتنمية الدولية تتبنى ورشة عمل خاصة بترميم وصيانة المباني المدرسية في شبوة
للمساعدة في تحسين أوضاع المدارس في اليمن ترعى الوكالة الأمريكية للتنمية الدولية في الجمهورية اليمنية إقامة ورشة عمل حول ترميم وصيانة المباني المدرسيه لعدد 18 مدرسة في محافظة شبوة ، للفترة من 1 حتى 6 نوفمبر 2008. يشارك في هذه الورشة 67 مشاركا من مهندسين و مدراء مدارس و معلمين و رؤساء مجالس أباء وامهات و أخصائين إجتماعيين و ممثلين من مكتب التربية في المحافظة و مكاتب التربية في المديريات سيناقش المشاركون في هذه الورشة أهمية الاستمرار في صيانة المرافق التعليمية وتطوير أكبر قدر ممكن من المهارات والمعرفة في مجال الإصلاح والصيانة الأساسية. ستسهم النتائج المتوقعة من هذه الورشة وكذلك اهتمام الجهات المعنية في إطالة عمر خدمة المباني الدراسية و بالتالي خفض التكاليف اللازمة للبناء والترميم هذه الورشة هي أحد أنشطة برنامج التعليم التابع تعكس جميع هذه الانشطة في مجال التعليم إلتزام حكومة الولايات المتحدة بمساعدة الجمهورية اليمنية لتحظى بحياة مليئة بالخير والإزدهار لكل اليمنيين من خلال قطاع التعليم.
