THE CONSULAR OFFICER WILL ONLY CONSIDER DOCUMENTS BROUGHT ALONG TO THE INTERVIEW. DOCUMENTS FAXED OR MAILED TO THE EMBASSY IN ADVANCE OF THE APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

As part of the visa interview, a quick fingerprint scan should be expected. Applicants who need additional screening are informed during the application process.

Your application will be evaluated on its merits and in compliance with the relevant provisions of United States law and regulation. A decision on your application will be made in as timely a manner possible. Some applications require additional administrative processing that may result in delays.

To expedite your visa submission request, we recommend you to follow the instructions carefully. Application forms must be answered completely, correctly and clearly.

PLEASE NOTE: Non-immigrant visas are issued only to applicants who can establish - without a doubt - that they intend to return to Yemen after a temporary stay in the United States. This can be done by showing substantial ties (social, professional, financial, etc.) to Yemen. Under United States law the responsibility for demonstrating valid reasons for travel and substantial ties to Yemen rests with the applicant. The burden of proof in all cases is upon the applicant to overcome the presumption that he or she is an intending immigrant.
