Assistant Secretary of State Jeffrey Feltman visits Sana'a

On June 22-23, Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Jeffrey Feltman, visited Sana'a.  His last visit was December 13-14, 2010, and he also accompanied Secretary Clinton on her January 11 trip to Yemen.  While in Sana'a, Feltman met with Vice President Abdo Rabu Mansoor Hadi and Foreign Minister Abubakr al-Qirbi.  He met with senior officials, members of the ruling party and the opposition, as well as students, business leaders, and civil society activists.  In his meetings, he noted the importance of dialogue between all parties and a peaceful political process.  He stressed that an immediate, nonviolent and orderly transition is in the best interests of the Yemeni people, who aspire to and deserve a peaceful future.
