The U.S. Department of State Human Rights Report for 2010 Released Worldwide
April 10, 2011
In a speech rolling out the 2010 Human Rights Reports on April 7, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned against three phenomena affecting human rights in the world: suppression of civic societies, suppression of minorities and restrictions on use of the Internet. She gave high marks to the "resolve and courage" of Arab activities, which inspired the world. (link to Sec State remarks)
The Human Rights Report annually assesses compliance with internationally accepted standards of human rights protection around the world throughout the year and documents human rights abuses from January to December 2010. The Arabic translation of the 2010 Human Rights Report chapter on Yemen will be available on this website in May 2011.
