The U.S. Embassy has information that demonstrations have broken out in the area around Sana’a University today following an altercation between students and security forces. Embassy personnel have been advised to limit travel in the city and to avoid areas where crowds have gathered. The Embassy reminds American citizens that even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly escalate into violence. American citizens are therefore urged to avoid the areas of demonstrations if possible, and to exercise caution if within the vicinity of any demonstrations.
