U.S. Ambassador Visits Students and Soldiers Injured in Terrorist Attack; Embassy Targeted, but Students Hurt

On the Morning of March 19th, U.S. Ambassador to Yemen Stephen A. Seche visited a number of the students and Yemeni security personnel injured in yesterday's terrorist attack. Speaking to the victims at the Military Hospital in Sana'a, Ambassador Seche expressed on behalf of the American people, his deepest sympathies to the innocent Yemenis injured in the attack which targeted the U.S. Embassy. Ambassador Seche thanked the Yemeni soldiers for their courageous service on behalf of the American Embassy, and expressed the hope that all the young women would recover from their injuries and return to their studies as quickly as possible.
In a prepared statement released by the U.S. Embassy, the Ambassador said, "I was profoundly saddened to hear the news reports of the school children and Yemeni security personnel injured in yesterday's attack. The United States condemns terrorism in all forms. It is particularly heinous when terrorism affects the lives of innocent children. On behalf of the American people, I would like to convey my most sincere condolences to the victims of this senseless terrorist attack and their families. I wish those injured a speedy recovery. We will do all within our power to assist the Yemeni authorities in their investigation into this act of terror against the Embassy and to bring the perpetrators to justice."
السفير الأميركي يزور الطالبات والجنود الذين أصيبوا في الهجوم الإرهابي:إستُهدفت السفارة ولكن أُصيبت الطالبات
في صباح يوم التاسع عشر من شهر آذار/ مارس قام سفير الولايات المتحدة لدى اليمن ستيفن سيش بزيارة عدد من الطالبات ورجال الأمن اليمنيين الذين جرحوا فى الهجوم الإرهابى الذى وقع يوم أمس. خلال تحدثه لضحايا الهجوم في المستشفى العسكري أعرب السفير ستيفن سيش نيابةً عن الشعب الأمريكي عن أعمق مشاعر التعاطف مع الأبرياء اليمنيين الذين جرحوا خلال الهجوم الذي إستهدف السفارة الأمريكية. وشكر السفير سيش وبإسم سفارة الولايات المتحدة الجنود اليمنيين على ما أظهروه من شجاعة كما أعرب عن أمله في أن تتعافى جميع الطالبات من إصاباتهن وأن يعدن إلى دراستهن في أسرع وقت ممكن. قال سفير الولايات المتحدة ستيفن سيش "لقد أحزنني وبشدة سماع تقارير إخبارية عن إصابة طالبات ورجال أمن يمنيين بجروح في هجوم يوم أمس". وأضاف "تُدين الولايات المتحدة الإرهاب بكل أشكاله". وأضاف قائلاً " إنه لمن البشاعة لا سيما عندما يمس الإرهاب حياة الاطفال الأبرياء". وأضاف " بالنيابة عن الشعب الأمريكى أود أن أقدم أحر التعازي وأصدق المواساه لضحايا هذا الهجوم الإرهابي الجنوني وأسرهم". "أتمنى الشفاء العاجل لكل الجرحى". وأختتم قائلاً " سنبذل كل ما في وسعنا لمساعدة السلطات اليمنية في التحقيق الذي تجريه حول هذا العمل الإرهابي ضد السفارة وتقديم مرتكبيه إلى العدالة. "
