American Citizen Assistance

The U.S. Embassy in Sana'a, Yemen has assisted an American citizen parent in regaining physical custody of her two American minor children. The Embassy is assisting in the repatriation of the children and their mother to the United States. The American citizen parent has sole legal custody of the children, which has been affirmed by American courts. There is no legal custodian for the children resident in Yemen and the children do not have Yemeni citizenship. The U.S. Embassy routinely assists American citizens abroad in similar cases.
